I was born in Canada in 1956 to immigrant parents from Holland. My interest in art didn't happen until after highschool.  I accidently discovered figure drawing and painting in college courses. Since then, I've had a keen interest in learning more about art through practice and research.

After many years of attempting to understand art and by experimenting with media and subject matter, I  have come to this point in time. The last winter season I made paper mache masks; now I'm working on canvas in an attempt to use found materials in order to create movement and emotion through texture and color in abstract painting.
